Honor Societies

St. Dominic Savio offers several honor societies including the National Honor Society and three other honor societies that recognize students for outstanding achievement in the areas of Mathematics, Spanish and Music.  These include the following:

National Honor Society 

NHS celebrates the qualities of scholarship, service, character, and leadership. To become a member of NHS, students must be a sophomore, junior or senior who has been invited after an application process governed by a faculty council member. NHS works on several leadership, and service activities throughout the school year.  Please view the following forms to check your eligibility and make a checklist of items needed before students can apply.

Mu Alpha Theta

Mu Alpha Theta is the National High School and Two-Year College Mathematics Honor Society.  The society fulfills its mission to inspire keen interest in mathematics, develop strong scholarship in the subject, and promote the enjoyment of mathematics through monthly meetings, as well as organizing a middle school math competition and Pi Day.

Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica

This honor society recognizes outstanding students in Spanish.  Students apply in December and January, and the awards are given in February at the Honor Societies Induction.  Students must be sophomores or higher and have a 3.5 GPA in Spanish.


Tri M

This program offers a distinguished honor society that helps plan for major music events and concerts throughout the school year. 


National Art Honor Society

This honor society recognizes outstanding students in visual art.  The society meets twice a month and encourages excellence in art, scholarship, and service.  Students are inducted each spring and must meet the following criteria: must have completed two semesters of Visual Art classes, have a 92 GPA in Art and an overall GPA of 86.


French Honor Society

The AATF SHF (French Honor Society) is a special designation given to French students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and citizenship in French class. SHF induction shows prospective colleges and employers that a student values high academic achievement and has maintained proper citizenship. Students must be enrolled in a French 2 Honors or above course level and demonstrate outstanding academic performance to be invited to join.
