Track Team Dominates Districts

When an athletic team transitions to a new, and different district, the transition can cause nervousness of the unknown. This year’s track team has dealt with these changes with grace and the "unknown" has not affected the results! Each team player exceeded their expectations and made a big impact on this years results in the 6A District competitions, with multiple medals and personal records.

The Savio Eagles dominated in the District Track Results. The Girls team won 3rd place overall and Boys received 5th place overall. The students that qualified for regionals are as follows: 

Regional Qualifiers

Long Jump: Cole McHugh - 4th Place, Elle Bartholomew - 2nd Place, Autumn Wilson - 1st 

Shot Put: Troy Foster - 3rd Place, Seth Arizola - 2nd Place

High Jump: Connor Buchanan - 1st Place 

100 Meter Dash: Autumn Wilson - 1st Place, Hali Murphy - 2nd Place 

200 Meter Dash:  Autumn Wilson - 1st Place 

100 Meter Hurdles: Erin Kolenda - 3rd Place 

200 Meter Dash: Troy Foster - 1st Place 

4x100 Meter Relay: Mattvey Carter, Daniel Mitre, Joseph Chavez, Troy Foster - 1st Place 

4x200 Meter Relay: Joseph Chavez, Nathan French, Cole McHugh, Connor Buchanan - 2nd Place 

400 Meter Dash: Hali Murphy - 1st Place

800 Meter Dash: Elle Bartholomew - 1st Place 

4x200 Meter Relay: Justice Mason, Eva Zimmerman, Britney Frasier, Nikki Flowers - 2nd Place 

4x400 Meter Relay: Elle Bartholomew, Erin Kolenda, Hali Murphy, Autumn Wilson - 1st Place
