Dear Savio Families,

What an amazing first couple of weeks at work. I am so excited to be here with you all. As you may know, I am the new President of St. Dominic Savio Catholic High School and Holy Family Catholic School. Having arrived on campus on July 6, I am beginning to understand how these schools work and getting to know the dedicated people who work here.

Those first few days saw floors being buffed, walls painted, and furniture being moved everywhere. This week, the carpets are being cleaned, and a full assessment is underway into the state of the grounds and buildings on campus in general. Even now, I am watching as they dig and erect the new lights for our football/soccer and baseball/softball fields. What an exciting time to arrive and be a part of getting our facilities ready for another academic year.

Each day brings a new member of the faculty and staff back to campus, and I am thoroughly enjoying getting to know them. I am amazed and edified by these people. Seeing their commitment to the students, community, and schools in general is just astounding. I know they, like me, cannot wait for the students to be around. Each morning, when I am able, I love to grab a cup of coffee and wander down to the gym. Just to see the students working hard as they prepare for the upcoming fall athletic seasons.

The first day of school will be here before we know it, and if we have not met before then, I hope to meet you at drop-off or pick-up, or even just around town. These communities have been so welcoming, and I am grateful for everyone’s prayers. My family and I are excited to be here. Me being a Navy brat, raised in South Georgia, and my wife born and raised in North Carolina, are delighted to be back in the South with so many good people.

I want you all to know that you and your family are in my daily prayers. I have started a holy hour in the Chapel at St. Dominic Savio and in the Holy Family Oratory. During this 
time, I pray, of course, for our faculty and staff, but also for you and especially your students. The greatest gift we are each given outside of God’s personal love for us is our 
children. To know that you have entrusted these children to us is indeed humbling. I am learning just how seriously our faculty and staff take that responsibility and I can assure 
you that I will be praying daily for the wisdom, courage, and knowledge to play a role in guiding these schools into the future. Thankfully, we have thoughtful and committed 
Board members for me to lean on.

One thing you will learn about me is that I will ask for your prayers more often than I ask for anything else. Do not get me wrong, I will ask for other things. But your prayers 
for the upcoming academic year, our faculty, and staff, and most of all for our students are what is needed most right now. These young people are such a joy and need our 
prayers daily.

So, here is my ask: Will you join me in forming a Memorare Army for this upcoming year? My goal is to get every family committed to praying at least one Memorare each 
day. I will be praying fifteen Memorare each day — one for every grade we have between the two schools. If we join together in this effort, we will be sending up thousands of 
prayers for our students and schools. Our Lady will be so pleased to join us in this effort, and we all know Jesus can never deny His Mother. Will you join me?
