The Savio Parent Association invited Deacon Rudy Villareal, St. Dominic Savio Catholic High School's Coordinator of Catholic Mission, Identity, and Culture, to speak about Lenten practices to assist Catholic families in supporting the faith with their young adults. The SPA Coffee & Community was held on Friday, February 20, in the Student Success Center.
With a Masters in Theology from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, and wrapping up a Doctor of Ministry in Preaching from the Aquinas Institute of Theology in St. Louis, Deacon Rudy was ordained to the Diaconate with the Diocese of Austin in 2016, and is currently assigned to St. John Vianney Parish, as Director of Evangelization and Elementary Faith Formation (PK-5th Grade). Deacon Rudy will work with Savio students and faculty every morning on campus after joining the Savio family following Christmas break.
