By Dr. Enrique Garcia

Please join me in welcoming Stefanie Schiesser, Savio's new Assistant Principal for Student Life.

Mrs. Schiesser is a career educator. She holds a B.S. in Education from Texas Tech and an M.Ed. in Educational Administration from Texas State. Mrs. Schiesser spent over six years in the classroom before transitioning into educational administration. She worked as a technology coordinator for the largest elementary school in Austin ISD where she also mentored first year teachers. Additionally, during this time, Mrs. Schiesser supervised student teachers from Texas State. She spent over 12 years at the district level with Austin ISD helping to lead the Human Resource Department in many different capacities. Mrs. Schiesser worked most recently as a contractor to conduct an audit for the AISD Customer Service Department. In this capacity she put into place processes to enhance the AISD Criminal History vetting system. During her tenure with Austin ISD Mrs. Schiesser also served three years as the assistant principal for Bryker Woods Elementary.

Mrs. Schiesser is originally from Odessa, Texas, and graduated from Permian High School. She has been married to her husband Tom for almost 20 years, and they have twin freshmen, Ben and Avery, at Savio. Mrs. Schiesser and her family have attended St. Theresa’s Catholic Church for over 20 years where she is an extraordinary minister of the Holy Communion and Tom is a member of Parish Council.

Mrs. Schiesser loves to spend time with her family and friends. One of her greatest joys is being a mom to Ben and Avery. She loves to read, cook and travel. She is extremely excited to be joining the Savio faculty and staff and looks forward to meeting all the students and families in the upcoming days.

Please keep Mrs. Schiesser in your prayers as she transitions into her role as Assistant Principal for Student Life.
