Student Life

St. Dominic Savio is an active and thriving environment and offers many exciting opportunities for students to engage their interests and participation through a variety of clubs, honor societies, and competitive groups. Interested students should watch announcements for meeting times and dates. For more details contact Mr. Vu at pvu@saviochs.org.  Current students and faculty can inquire how to start a new club, meeting locations, and various school policies that may affect clubs. 

Faith FOrmation Clubs

Liturgical and Mass Ministers

Student ministers serve at school Mass and Exposition and include Sacristans, Lectors, Altar Servers, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMC). This opportunity is open to all students. Annual training and fellowship meetings are scheduled at intervals throughout the year.

Timothy Team Peer Ministry

For students who wish to serve as Peer Leaders in order to foster strong faith formation and ministry through Catholic teachings.

Women of God

For young girls to study their faith by reading the Bible, receive faith formation through friendship, and learning how to live out Christ's actions. Friendships are made and flourish through an encouraging and uplifting atmosphere. During the weekly meetings, the students study the female roles in the bible to inspire faith and personal growth.

Made for Greatness

To inspire and build a Catholic community through fellowship and student led faith formation.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes

To bring athletes closer to Jesus Christ through meetings and common events. 

Fine Arts Clubs

Art Club

The Art club explores additional art projects and materials not covered in classes. The student creates a variety of projects throughout the year. One piece is gifted to the school at the end of the year to showcase the student talent on campus. Students do not need to be enrolled in an art class to participate. 

Faith Choir

The Faith Choir is a vocal ensemble that sings Catholic liturgical music and contemporary Christian music.

Jazz Band

The Jazz Band is an instrumental ensemble club that plays jazz, swing, and big band music. Any student at Savio may be a member of this club. 

Pep Band

The Pep Band plays for select varsity football games and select varsity boys/girls basketball games in Winter sports season. Students are welcome to join the pep band and support our Savio athletic department. 

Photography Club

For students with a shared love of photography and help one another with photographic skills.

Foreign Languages

Chinese Club

Informing Savio students of the Chinese culture, language, food.

Latin Club

Promotes education of Classical Latin language, culture, and Fellowship.

Spanish Club

For students wishing to know more about Hispanic culture, language, and history through film, projects, and field trips.

French Club

The primary purpose of this club is to foster an interest in and an understanding of the 28 French-Speaking Countries and their respective cultural traditions

Recreational Clubs

Ultimate Frisbee Club

For students wishing to participate in an intramural type ultimate frisbee activity.

Pickleball Club

For students who want to engage a sport that Savio doesn’t offer for the fans of pickleball. We welcome all grade-levels.

Line Dancing Club

Line Dancing Club aims to provide a space for joyful community connection and collaboration through the instruction of different dances. This club creates a safe space for students to challenge their comfort zones at a social and physical level. 

Martial Arts and Self Defense Club

To share and practice martial arts/self-defense techniques with each other in a safe environment.

Chess Club

To popularize chess, share and learn strategies.

Social Awareness Clubs

CRS Club

The Savio CRS Club is part of a network of high school clubs and adult chapters across the United States organized by Catholic Relief Services (CRS), the international aid organization of the U.S. Catholic Church. CRS works on behalf of Catholics in the United States to assist people around the world experiencing poverty and vulnerability. 

Eagles for Life

Students wishing to promote the Pro-Life beliefs of the Catholic church.

Environmental Club

Students promoting environmentalism and sustainability at St. Dominic Savio.

House Council

Student leadership group responsible for organization of the 12 families with the 4 "Houses" of the school.  Implement school activities, house activities, school leadership, and overall school environment.

Savio Ambassadors

Students that assist the Admissions office in hosting students interested in attending St. Dominic Savio.

Model UN

Model UN uses competitions and learning to raise awareness about the United Nations.

International Affairs and Relief

Learn about issues plaguing the countries of the world and if possible, find a way to support or provide relief.

Technology Clubs

CyberPatriot Club

To expand student knowledge of data programming and compete with other schools in computer science programs.

Engineering Club

To expose students to various disciplines of the engineering field through projects, field trips, and competitions.

Robotics Club

Designs, builds, operates competitive robots to compete in state and nationwide robotics competitions.

Movie Makin' Club

To showcase and facilitate artistic abilities of students through film. 

Savio Filmworks

To provide for the media and film needs of the school.

Computer Science Honor Society

To raise awareness for this unique honor society and for computer science.

Girls Who Code

Encourage young women to explore STEM courses.

OTHER CLUBS

Mock Trial

The purpose of this club is to give Savio students a place to learn about the law and its processes.

Literature Club

To build a community where those who love literature will thrive.

Quiz Bowl

Students meet and prepare for Quiz Bowl competitions.

Mu Alpha Theta

Students involved in Math Honor Society organize Pi Day and math tutoring sessions.

Tri M Honor Society

To encourage service through the honor society for musicians.

Science National Honor Society

To promote scientific thought and literacy in the school.

Lend a Helping Hat

To teach people to crochet/knit to make hats for local hospitals.

Garden Club

Beautify the school campus through maintenance of the garden, courtyard, Marian grotto, and indoor plants.

Students stand with their table at the student activity fair held at the beginning of every school year.
