Guidance Department: Statement of Philosophy and the Role of the School Counselor

Counseling services at St. Dominic Savio Catholic High School are available to all students and are designed to meet the educational, social and emotional needs of students at each grade level (i.e. career planning, educational planning, college planning, and personal and social development issues). The counselor acts as a resource person, a coordinator among teachers, parents and students, and as an advisor to the student. The counselor will seek to understand the expectations and concerns of both students and parents and work together closely to empower both so the student may enjoy a prosperous and gratifying high school experience.
