This past Spring several of our students were involved in a production of a pro-life short film named Kayla’s Choice. The film is about the pressures a pregnant teen girl would face in a high-school.

The film was produced by Pro-Life Revolution (http://proliferevolution.com), a pro-life organization based out of Elgin that has a particular interest in helping those in crisis pregnancies. Kayla’s Choice is about the negative pressures a pregnant high school girl would face. It is about 8 minutes long. The film is not graphic but is emotionally intense and does have depictions of the workings of an abortion facility.

The film is part of a larger project to both educate and to provide resources to those who feel they have no other options during a crisis pregnancy. Here is a link to the film and the project that it is a part of: http://www.kaylaschoice.com/kc/Film.html

Congratulations to Adrian Higgason ’12 and Bianca Sicich ’12 for being named National Hispanic Scholars by the College Board.  The National Hispanic Recognition Program (NHRP) was initiated in 1983 to identify outstanding Hispanic/Latino high school students and to share information with interested colleges and universities. In order to be eligible, students must be at least one-quarter Hispanic/Latino as defined by the NHRP, meet the minimum PSAT/NMSQT cutoff score for your state, and achieve a minimum grade point average (GPA) requirement.

Each year, the NHRP identifies nearly 5,000 of the highest-scoring students (from a nationwide total of more than 200,000 juniors) in the United States and U.S. Territories who take the PSAT/NMSQT and designate themselves as Hispanic/Latino. http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/psat/about/scholarships.html

Congratulations, Adrian and Bianca!
