Savio’s 2nd annual Pi Day celebration will be held on March 10th because the school is on spring break during the actual Pi Day–March 14th. This year Savio will add an element of Servant Leadership to our Pi Day celebration. Since Pi Day is closely tied to food, we have decided to help out the Capitol Area Food Bank during our celebration day.
This year the students will submit t-shirt designs for the Savio 2011 Pi Day shirt. Designs are due by this Friday, February 11th. One dollar will be donated to the Capitol Area Food Bank for every Pi Day t-shirt sold. On Pi Day,the students may come out of uniform if they are wearing the Savio 2011 Pi-Day shirt. Order forms for t-shirts will be available next week and family members are encouraged to purchase a t-shirt as well.
To further connect Pi Day to the Capitol Area Food Bank, each homeroom will have a goal of raising 314 cans of food. If the homeroom makes its goal, it will earn another free dress day later in the year. All cans collected will be donated to the food bank. Please contact Mrs. Artzt with questions.
