Come see the Savio Choir, Savio Symphony, and Savio Jazz Ensemble perform a variety of music from notable composers from the classical-era to today on Tuesday, October 26th at 7pm. Admission is free.
Freshman Lauren Hudson is Savio’s first female all-state athlete after finishing 10th at the State Cross Country meet this past Saturday. Congratulations, Lauren. The following girls also ran in the meet and represented St. Dominic Savio well: Jenna Minor (14th), Anna Carter (31st), Sarah Elizondo (72nd), Jenna Sommer (74th), Sarah Fumagalli (78th), and Isabel Alvarado (85th).
The boys team did well too. Ricky Minor was Savio’s top runner finishing 13th. Kyle Hausmann finished 30th, Daniel Parrella (49th), Jakob Hurlimann (85th), TJ Robbins (88th), Clay Koenig (91st), and Matthew Killingsworth (109th). Congratulations on a great season.

Savio’s volleyball team finished a great season on Tuesday night losing to Austin Regents in the first round of the playoffs. Coach Cooper and all the players look forward to next season when all players return to improve on all the successes of Savio’s first varsity season. Congratulations girls!
Savio will host its first football game tomorrow against Halletsville Sacred Heart. Game time is 7:30 pm. Come cheer the football team on to victory. There will be a pre-game tailgate for the entire Savio community from 5:30-7 in the Savio Square. The booster club is sponsoring a barbecue free of charge while supplies last. Go Savio!
Sophomore Gabi Camacho was selected to the High School All Region Orchestra on Saturday, October 16.
The audition consisted of playing excerpts from the Texas Music Educators Association All-State Etudes and was open
to all Austin students enrolled in public, private or home school. The TMEA Region 18 Clinic Concert will be on Saturday,
November 20, 4:00 p.m. at the Pflugerville Performing Arts Center. Congratulations, Gabi!
Sophomore David Bologna was a guest performer at the 20th anniversary of the National Catholic Educational Association’s St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Awards this past Monday in Washington DC. The award ceremony was held at the Ronald Regan International Trade Center in honor of those organizations and individuals who have made a significant contribution to education in America and to Catholic schools in particular. David sang two songs–The Climb by Mily Cyrus and God Bless America–and performed a dance that he choreographed. Visit NCEA’s website to read more about David and the award ceremony. Kyle Hausmann finished 2nd out of 432 runners at the McNeil Invitational last Saturday. The following boys also placed: Ricky Minor 30th, Daniel Parrella 128th, Jakob Hurlimann 246th, Clay Koenig 265th, TJ Robbins, 297th, Matt Killingsworth 306th, and Stephen Harden 328th. The boys finished 20th out of 38 teams, beating McNeil, Round Rock, Bowie, Bastrop, Anderson, Westlake, and Stony Point among others. Congratulations boys.
The girls team also ran well. Jenna Minor finished 43rd out of a field of 457 runners. The following girls also placed: Anna Carter 106th, Sarah Elizondo 185th, Sarah Fumagalli 270th, Jenna Sommer 295th, Kelli Bowen 361st, Lauren Davenport 368th, Bianca Sicich 380th, Isabel Alvarado 389th, Brianna Weis 391st, Mary Kellerman 405th, Gabi Camacho 428th, Maura Weis 430th, and Rebecca Weis 436th. The girls team finished 19th out of 33 teams beating big schools such as Westwood, Waco Midway, Bastrop, Killeen Ellison, Anderson, Stony Point, Pflugerville and Bandera among others. Congratulations girls.
The girls volleyball team secured a spot in the TAPPS 3A State Playoffs. Their overall season record is 16-4-1, with a district record of 5-4. There is a district certification meeting this Friday that will determine Savio’s first round playoff game as well as players who will receive All-District Honors. First round State Playoffs will be Tuesday, October 19th. Congratulations girls.
